South Bend man charged in Goshen robbery, has trail date set

A South Bend man has been arrested in connection to an armed robbery that happened last year in Goshen.

31-year-old Lasean Green is accused of taking at gunpoint over $1,000 from a man who thought he was meeting to buy a cellphone.

In court on Thursday, the judge entered a not-guilty plea on his behalf and assigned him to a public defender.

According to court documents, the victim told investigators he had arranged over Facebook to buy some cellphones. When he arrived at the meet-up place for the transaction, Green and a second man got of the car, pointed a gun and demanded money.

The two men pistol whipped him before taking his money and his phone.

The Elkhart Truth reports Green was arrested last month and is set for a jury trial in late March.
