The Elkhart-Goshen area has topped The Wall Street Journal’s Emerging Housing Markets Index. It’s a list that ranks the 300 biggest metro areas in the U.S.

The front page of the Wall Street Journal website Tuesday proclaimed that Elkhart was number one, taking a giant step from #13 in the previous list which came out in July.

Elkhart County Board of Realtors President Patty Miller tells The Elkhart Truth that low interest rates mean there are a lot of people in the RV Capital of the World who are ready to buy, and many are looking to move to the Elkhart area or upgrade their housing situation because of the strong local economy.
