Girl killed, boy injured, and Akron man arrested after hit-and-run

A 12-year-old girl was killed, a 15-year-old boy was hurt and a 26-year-old man was arrested for an apparent hit-and-run crash.

The collision happened Friday night, Nov. 5, on State Road 19 near County Road 50 North in Fulton County.

When crews arrived on scene they found the boy with head and facial injuries. He was taken to the hospital.

A short distance away, they found the girl, Brelynna Felix of Akron, who was in a field near the roadway.

She was dead at the scene.

Investigators discovered the suspect vehicle in Akron on Saturday.

The driver of the vehicle, Gage Rogers, was taken into custody and booked into the Fulton County Jail on preliminary charges of leaving the scene of a fatal accident and one count of leaving the scene of an accident resulting in serious bodily injury.

So many questions. Were the kids pedestrians? If there was another vehicle involved what was it? Who was driving? Were the kids using seat-belts or were they unrestrained as a report of someone being ejected from a vehicle usually means? What was the perp driving?
