Annual fundraiser for the S-A Ryan A. Balmer Veterans Memorial Fund is set for Nov. 13

An annual fundraiser for the S-A Ryan A. Balmer Veterans Memorial Fund is set for Saturday, Nov. 13.

Ryan Balmer was a Mishawaka native, graduating from Mishawaka High School. Balmer was killed in action on June 5th, 2007 while serving in Kirkuk, Iraq.

The memorial fund allows family and friends to honor the memory and service of Ryan by raising funds in his name to benefit local veterans and their families.

This year the group will host a quarter paddle auction and raffle to benefit local veteran’s charities in Mishawaka.

The event will be taking place at South Bend Eagles #435 at 61601 South Ironwood in South Bend. Doors will open at 4:00 p.m. and the auction begins at 5:00 p.m.

Organizers say they 100 gift baskets that will auctioned off. Plus raffles on other items, including a wheelbarrow full of everything needed for a Thanksgiving dinner.
