A convicted child molester and pedophile in LaPorte has been sentenced after a guilty plea.

52 year-old Michael Christianson of LaPorte pleaded guilty to three counts of transporting obscene materials. On Friday he was sentenced to 15 years in prison followed by 2 years of supervised release.

Court documents say in June or July of 2019, Christianson used a computer to submit three books containing obscene content to a publisher. The books contained photos of children engaged in sexual activity.

Christianson was already a sex offender, having been convicted of abusing a 12 year-old boy in 2003.
