Judge denies release before Christmas for Alyssa Shepherd

A judge has denied an extended early release for the woman who killed three children at a Fulton County bus stop.

Alyssa Shepherd will be getting out of prison six months early after completing a class at the Department of Corrections. WSBT reports that she is now scheduled to be released in March of 2022, but a judge had the option of letting her out three months before that around December 20th of this year. The judge passed on that opportunity.

The Fulton County Prosecutor says the state asked the judge to not allow her to have an earlier release date.
