A global day of giving called #GivingTuesday is happening on the Tuesday after Thanksgiving, following a series of shopping days – including Black Friday, Small Business Saturday and Cyber Monday.

Giving Tuesday celebrates the charitable season, when many people focus on their holiday and end-of-year giving.

In the U.S. alone, more than 240 communities and coalitions are expected to take part.

Individuals are encouraged to give to a nonprofit that matters to them.

To participate, connect with your favorite charity.

Your employer may also offer matching gifts to increase your donations.
