What is causing this huge increase in shootings / killings in South Bend? I am becoming very reluctant to visit South bend now even for the theater plays
Poverty! It’s easier to get ahead dealing drugs than to work. College is unaffordable with no guarantee of anything but debt afterwards. My teen age son had a stray bullet pass by his bed with him in it. That same evening, a recent high school classmate of his was shot & killed.
There are parts of the country that are far more impoverished than South Bend. It’s not the poverty, it’s the culture of malaise and dependency and low expectations. The ruling Democrat overlords have been preaching helpless victimhood for decades, and now the kids all believe that they aren’t to blame for anything they do. It’s always someone else’s fault, “the poverty made me do it!”
The lack of a True Follower Of Christ Jesus.
“ My people parish for the lack of knowledge”
The same thing that allows over 30,000 lies and insurrection to lead the blind. Shootings in school and on the streets, that is a lack of Jesus Christ.
