Michigan City man, 24, arrested after chase, deadly crash on Red Arrow Highway

A Michigan City man is facing a murder charge after allegedly chasing a vehicle, leading to a deadly crash in Berrien County.

Dominic Michael Mason, 24, turned himself in to police on Thursday, Dec. 9.

He’s been identified as the driver of the vehicle chasing another on Red Arrow Highway.

Speeds in that chase reached 90 miles per hour. Investigators say Mason’s vehicle struck the victim’s vehicle several times, leading to the crash. Travis Lloyd Germain was killed.

Two passengers were injured. Mason is charged with 2nd degree murder, reckless driving, failing to stop and possession of heroin.
