Former Notre Dame women’s basketball coach Muffett McGraw was inducted in to the school’s basketball Ring of Honor on Sunday, Dec. 11.
McGraw retired from coaching last year — after spending 32 seasons as the head coach of the Lady Fighting Irish — leading them to two national championships in 2001 and 2018
Including five season at Lehigh before going to Notre Dame, McGraw amassed 936 wins in his coaching career — which is seventh most all-time among women’s college coaches.
At the end of the ceremony, Notre Dame Athletic Director Jack Swarbrick announced that there will be a Muffet McGraw statue erected outside the Purcell Pavilion.
The timing for the statute or what it will look like has yet to be determined.

MEH, people playing with balls. What does this warrant grandiose approbation for? So what, she was there for a bunch of GAMES, big deal. It’s probably more of a big deal that the “university” made a bunch of money off this…always follow the money.
Pull it down and lay it next to a Gen Lee statue.
