DCS looking into how 4-year-old ended up in the center median of Bristol Street in Elkhart

The Department of Child Services is investigating how a 4-year-old child ended up, wandering along, in the center median of Bristol Street in Elkhart in the middle of the night.

A passerby spotted the child around 3:15 a.m. on Sunday, Dec. 12.

ABC 57 News reports the Good Samaritan gave the child a sweater and put the tyke in their vehicle to warm up.

Police say the child’s father was at home at the time.
