Whitmer: “No new mandates anytime soon” for Michigan

(Tommie Lee)

Governor Whitmer is telling Michiganders not to expect any sweeping new mandates as the omicron variant spreads across the state.

Earlier this week, Whitmer held her first COVID press conference in quite a while, and said the rise in cases has not changed her mind about the potential for new statewide mandates.

She acknowledged the rising tide of cases at hospitals across the state led by mostly unvaccinated COVID patients, but said now is not the time to close businesses again or set new mandates. Whitmer says “sweeping mandates are less likely to influence and encourage the population to get vaccinated.”

Whitmer isn’t sure that she can cheat enough to win her next election if she does more mandates. You can only fabricate so many Democrat votes…
