St. Joseph County is no longer in the red zone on the Indiana color-coded COVID map.

It’s back to the orange zone and cases continue the trend downward.

According to statistics by the county health department, the 7-day positivity rate is down to 13.5%. One week ago, it was around 16 percent.

Other Indiana counties in the MNC listening area remain in the red zone.

The “red zone” threshold was established, arbitrarily, by human beings. Human beings with a vested interest in fear and control, no less. They could have just as easily have set the threshold at 5 or 10 for blue, and we’d all be just fine on the map. The map is irrelevant.

Don’t panic too much about being in the red zone, panic more about being ruled over by people who want to keep you living in fear.
