Ex-trailer salesman admitted to stealing nearly $1-million dollars from the company

Former trailer salesman has admitted to stealing close to $1-million dollars from the company over period of 5 years.

56-year-old Scott Hagedorn plead guilty to felony theft and is awaiting sentencing at the Elkhart County Superior Court.

In early 2019, a warrant for Hagedorn’s arrest was issued after his boss, John Adams of John’s Trailer Sales, came forward with theft allegations.

The Elkhart Truth reports Adams discovered the missing money after hiring a new accountant who said the company had not been paid for multiple trailers sold by Hagedorn at its Middlebury office.

Adams confronted Hagedorn during a recorded phone call in which he told his boss he gambled all of the money away.

In addition to the criminal charges, two lawsuits brought on by the trailer company and its insurer are still pending.

Hagedorn could face one-year in state prison with two years of probation
