Two people hurt on ice-slickened County Road 17

Two people are recovering after a crash on an ice-slickened stretch of County Road 17.

The collision happened around 10:40 a.m. on Monday, Jan. 17, when Elkhart County Sheriff’s investigators say a 46-year-old Winona Lake woman was traveling southbound, north of County Road 142, and slid on the ice, then left the road.

The woman’s vehicle clipped several times before landing right side up.

The driver suffered cuts to her hands. Her passenger suffered head and hand injuries.

The two were taken to Elkhart General Hospital for treatment.
