A woman was arrested after allegedly stealing a vehicle at a gas station and, then, giving police a fake name.

It happened late last week. The owner of the vehicle told police he left it running while went into the gas station.

He was able to track the vehicle and, when police caught up and detained the driver, she allegedly and repeatedly gave them a false name and claimed she didn’t know her social security number.

However, ABC 57 News reports officers found her wallet with her true I-D.

Chelayna Alexander was arrested on preliminary charges of auto theft and false informing. She’s also wanted for a warrant out of Goshen.
