A semi truck driver was killed on the Indiana Toll Road.

The collision happened around 12:00 a.m. on Saturday, Feb. 19, near Shipshewana.

Indiana State Troopers arrived to find two semi-trucks, one parked on the shoulder and another crashed in the ditch.

The 45-year-old man who drove the semi that was struck was found, unresponsive, in the ditch.

Despite live-saving efforts, he was pronounced dead at the scene.

Investigators believe the victim pulled over on the side of the road because he ran out of fuel, when a second semi-truck being driven by 35-year-old man hit the semi before crashing through a guard rail and running over the driver.
