Berrien Springs man, 68, killed in crash in Berrien County

A Berrien Springs man was killed in a two-car crash in Berrien County.

The collision happened just before 7 p.m. on Wednesday, March 2.

Officers were called to Cleveland Avenue and Browntown Road where they found a 34-year-old woman from Galien who was the driver of a 2018 Dodge Journey and her 12 year old son complaining of chest, ankle, and stomach pain.

Officers also found the driver of 2015 Honda Civic unresponsive.

Officers and first responders began CPR and the man, Gregory Toney, 68, was transported to Spectrum Lakeland Hospital where he was later pronounced dead.

The Galien woman was also treated at Spectrum Lakeland Hospital for her injuries.

Factors that led to the crash are still being investigated by the Berrien County Accident Investigation team.
