Cellmates at Elkhart County Jail facing preliminary charges of trying to escape

Cellmates at the Elkhart County Jail are facing preliminary charges of trying to escape.

Police say Chase Jones and Joshua Parker, both 28-year-old, chiseled a hole in their cell wall.

Probable cause documents for Parker indicate jail guards heard a sound coming from their cell Monday morning. Inside the cell, guards found a 12 inch by 12 inch, 4 inch deep hole in the cell wall, carved out using wire and a metal ring.

Both men remain in the same jail they tried to escape from.
