An Illinois man has pleaded guilty to sex-related crimes after meeting with a child in Berrien Springs.

Authorities say in April 2023, 26-year-old Eduardo Torres of Waukegan filmed himself sexually assaulting a 12-year-old after meeting them online, communicating with them through Snapchat and traveling to Berrien Springs to meet in person.

Torres allegedly assaulted the child before taking them back to his home, crossing the state lines.

He originally pled guilty to sexual exploitation of a child in December of last year, and he has been sentenced to 210 months in prison followed by five years of supervised release.
