Mike Hosinski, the former Jimtown High School teacher who was caught on camera slapping a student, is now officially charged with Battery resulting in Injury.

On Feb. 25, an officer responded to the school after being called by the principal. During the investigation, that officer noticed cuts on the student’s mouth and a lump on the head.

The student told police Hosinski asked him to leave the room. Hosinski then followed him down the hallway and grabbed his bookbag. Hosinski proceeded to hit him with an open hand across his face, causing his head to hit the brick wall.

The child wound up with a bloody nose and lip.

The officer was able to obtain camera footage, backing up the student’s statement.

Hosinski’s bond was posted at $1,500 and his initial hearing is set for March 10.
