South Bend teens arrested after police chase near Peru, Ind.

Three teenagers from South Bend were arrested after a police chase.

Indiana State Police tried to pull over a Jeep that was driving 115 miles an hour in a 60 zone, northbound on U.S. 31 near Miami County Road 1400 South.

The driver ended up crashing the Jeep. The driver was identified as 19-year-old Tavonta Lawrence, with the 15 and 16-year-old also in the car. The 15-year-old was charged with auto theft, among several other charges.

The 16 year old tried to make a run for it, but was tracked down by police dogs. The Jeep was stolen out of Mishawaka.
