A Kingsbury man has been arrested after allegedly driving with a suspended license and carrying a handgun without a permit.

It was just after 12:30 a.m. on Tuesday, March 15, when a deputy checked the registration of a vehicle traveling along U.S. 421 near State Road 2.

The deputy learned the registered owner, 33-year-old Chad Barron, had a suspended driver’s license and was wanted in Marshall County.

The deputy pulled the vehicle over and found a 9 millimeter pistol inside.

Barron was taken to the LaPorte County Jail and arrested on the charges of carrying a handgun without a permit, driving while suspended, and a prior violation.

A hold was also placed on him for Marshall County authorities.
