South Bend man sentenced to 106 months in prison for gun and drug offenses

A South Bend man was sentenced in United States District Court after pleading guilty to armed drug trafficking and being a felon in possession of a firearm.

Joseph Blair, Jr., 30, was sentenced to 106 months in prison followed by 3 years of supervised release.

According to documents, in December of 2020, law enforcement searched Blair’s home and recovered over 150 grams of methamphetamine and a loaded handgun.

A search of his car resulted in the recovery of over 200 grams of methamphetamine, two rifles, and a magazine for a high capacity rifle.

This case was investigated by the Drug Enforcement Administration with the assistance of the South Bend Police Department.

I thought the same thing as Thor. They don’t even comprehend what they’re reporting on. Even if the guy was a convicted felon, being in possession of a firearm magazine is in no way illegal. They just want to sensationalize. Jon Zimney, can you tell us what a “high capacity rifle” is? No such thing. You sound ignorant and it makes those reading your script sound ignorant as well.
