A 21-year-old Elkhart woman was arrested after leading officers on a chase on the bypass.

While driving west on the bypass near the State Road 19 exit, officers with the Goshen Police Department attempted a traffic stop on a Pontiac G6.

They say the driver, Alexis Gills, fled before crashing while trying to get off of the bypass at the Elm Road exit.

Gills and three other juvenile females took off on foot. All four were later found.

Gills was placed under arrest and faces possible charges of resisting law enforcement and neglect of a dependent.

She was taken to the Elkhart County Jail.

The three female juveniles were taken to the Mishawaka Police Department where they were picked up by adult family members.
