LaPorte GOP hoping to wrestle away 1st District seat

Democrats have had a foothold on Indiana’s 1st Congressional District since 1931, which was the last time a Republican held that seat.

Republicans are planning to pump a lot of campaign funds into the district to try and unseat Rep. Frank Mrvan (D).

One of of the Republicans looking to take on Mrvan later this year is Blair Milo — the former mayor of LaPorte. She tells All Indiana Politics that Republicans have been gaining steam in the district over the last decade and is confident she is the right person to challenge Mrvan in the general election.
