Damage being repaired at Elkhart cemeteries not caused by vandals

(Pixabay)

Crews are working to repair damages at an Elkhart cemetery. The city’s Communication Director Corinne Straight says the damage was not caused by vandals, but rather a burial that happened last Friday.

Some headstones and plots were damaged, with visible tire tracks from cemetery equipment. City cemetery crews were filling the divots and the city says they try to avoid damaging any plots, but there was very little room in the cemetery for the equipment and the soil conditions didn’t help the situation.
