Avian flu still getting around Indiana, has now moved to northern Indiana

The avian flu is still getting around in Indiana. State animal health experts say it has now moved to northern Indiana.

Last month, few turkey farms in southern Indiana had an outbreak that resulted in over 170,000 birds having to be killed.

Now, the State Board of Animal Health says a duck farm in Elkhart has been hit by the virus.

They says it’s a flock of 4,000 ducks.

Indiana isn’t alone either. In the last two days several flocks of chickens, turkeys, and ducks in several states stretching from Wyoming to New York have have to have thousands of birds destroyed.
