South Bend is on the hunt for referees and umpires for its upcoming youth sports season…

This shortage means that referees may have to double up on the job and games could be cancelled.

According to WSBT, it’s not a confined issue, it’s being seen in all sports. But, the Venues Parks and Arts has a solution in mind.

They are holding a referee clinic, where applicants can sign up and go through a hybrid-course, afterwards becoming a licensed referee in the area.

The venues board will cover the costs of the certificate and games worked.
