Man, 23, killed, 1-year-old escapes injury after crash on Centreville-Constantine Road

Speed and no seat belt are believed to be factors in a crash that claimed the life of a 21-year-old man.

The collision happened around 7:45 a.m. on Tuesday, April 19, on Centreville-Constantine Road, according to the St. Joseph County Michigan Sheriff’s Office, when the driver crossed the center line, ran off the road, and struck several trees.

The driver was pronounced dead at the scene.

A 1-year-old child in the backseat was found properly secured and was not hurt.
