One Elkhart officer bitten, another injured during arrest

Two Elkhart police officers received minor injuries while trying arrest a man.

Police were on patrol in the area of Main and Beardsley due to the sound of gunfire when they spotted a man wearing all dark clothes on a bicycle with no lights.

An officer stopped the bicyclist, 26-year-old Jamelle House of Elkhart. One thing led to another and, House and the officer ended up in a scuffle and on the ground.

House allegedly bit one of the officers. ABC 57 reports police found meth and paraphernalia and meth on him.

He was arrested for that, resisting, battery to an officer and had an outstanding warrant.
