Warmer weather means more pollen issues

Warmer weather is here, and that means allergy season is hitting Michiana hard.

This year the seasonal allergies include a pollen increase that’s been building for a month. That includes tree pollen, grass pollen, weed pollen, and accelerated mold levels.

South Bend Clinic Allergist Dr. Christina Barnes tells ABC 57 that pollen spreads best on warm days with a little breeze. She says Michiana’s current weather pattern is ideal for pollen to spread.

If you have issues with pollen, she recommends not going outside early in the morning, when levels are at their highest.
