An arrest has been made after a driver allegedly dragged an officer after dropping off a shooting victim at Memorial Hospital.
It happened in early April.
ABC 57 News reports a hospital police captain saw a vehicle run the stop sign at Navarre and Lafayette at a high speed and enter the E.R. parking garage.
The driver, 19-year-old Donovan McCain, and another man got out of the vehicle and pointed to a third man in the backseat, saying he had been shot.
McCain and the other man got back into the vehicle despite orders to stay put. An officer jumped onto the hood, but fell off and grabbed the side mirror on the way down, being dragged until he let go. The officer suffered injuries to his shoulders, arms, and knee.
McCain took off, but was arrested on Monday and is being held without bond.
