Arrest made after shooting in South Bend

An arrest has been made after a weekend shooting in South Bend.
Officers were called around 2:15 a.m. on Sunday, May 15,  to the 2600 block of South Michigan Street when they found a male victim with an apparent gunshot wound.
The victim was taken to the hospital, where he was treated for non-life-threatening injuries. Police were able to get a description of the suspect’s vehicle and, a short time later, officers spotted a vehicle matching the description traveling at a high rate of speed near Sample and Chapin Streets.
31-year-old Hector Estrada, Jr. stands charged with Battery By Means of a Deadly Weapon and Criminal Recklessness.
