A man wanted by federal authorities was captured after police say he crashed into a bank in the City of St. Joseph.

The collision happened on Friday afternoon, May 20, at the Flagstar Bank on Niles Avenue.

The Herald Palladium reports the vehicle landed just two feet away from one of the bank employees, but the only person hurt was the fugitive.

The crash happened when Michigan State Police spotted the wanted man and tried to stop the vehicle when the man sped off, lost control of his vehicle, struck a car, then smashed into the bank.

The man then took off on foot. Police caught up to him at a nearby McDonald’s.

Authorities did not identify the suspect or say what he was wanted for.
