New toll rates for Indiana Toll Road customers effective July 1.
It’s going to cost more to drive on the Indiana Toll Road.
The toll road operator released the following information explaining the rate hike, which begins on July 1:
ITRCC, the operator of the Indiana Toll Road, says the annual increase to toll rates will take effect in July.
Beginning July 1, 2022, the toll rate for a Class 2 (typical 2-axle passenger vehicle) full-length trip will increase per the lease agreement from $12.28 to $13.50, and from $66.30 to $72.88 for a Class 5 (typical 5-axle semi vehicle) full-length trip.
In accordance with the lease agreement, ITRCC is required to invest in the operations, maintenance, and capital upgrades to the Indiana Toll Road.  To meet these obligations, ITRCC has spent over $600 million on infrastructure upgrades since 2016, including the reconstruction of more than 70% of pavement lane miles, interchanges and bridges. These improvements have substantially improved the driving experience and safety conditions for motorists.
In addition, ITRCC has completed the reconstruction of the eight travel plazas across the corridor, and the deployment of an Intelligent Transportation System to further enhance customer safety, communications, and experience.  A major upgrade and modernization of the toll plaza technology and lane system is also currently underway and is expected to be completed in late 2022.  Collectively, these projects represent the largest investment in upgrading the Toll Road since it was first built in the 1950s.
Toll rates vary according to vehicle class, distance traveled, and payment method.  Visit www.indianatollroad.org for detailed toll rates for non-full-length, and cash-payment trips.
