Last week’s Global Economic Summit in Indianapolis may pave the way for some new international investment in Indiana.

Governor Holcomb says he believes the gathering produced some firm commitments. And he says the four days of panel discussions and networking may be a springboard for new business ideas in areas like alternative energy.

Business and government leaders from 28 countries attended the four-day conference. Holcomb says gathering that much expertise to brainstorm together multiplies the potential for progress.

McLaren Racing announced a new $25 million IndyCar facility in Whitestown on the opening day of the summit, and Holcomb signed a memorandum of understanding with the United Kingdom for future business collaborations. Both those announcements had been in the works before the conference began.
