A suspect has been arrested in connection with a vandalism case that impacted two downtown businesses.

South Bend Police officers were called to the 100 block of S. Michigan Street just after 5 a.m. on Tuesday, June 7, to investigate a report of broken windows at the South Bend Chocolate Cafe and Spirited.

The department’s Property Crimes Unit took over the investigation and, through the processing of evidence, identified Joshua Rogers, 35, as a suspect.

Rogers was arrested on Tuesday afternoon on preliminary charges of Burglary and Criminal Mischief. He was taken to the St. Joseph County Jail, where he awaits formal charges.
