A bill headed to Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer would allow 17-year-olds to serve alcohol.
That’s only if they go through an alcohol serving training program and if there is a manger on site who is at least 18 years old.
According to WOOD-TV in Grand Rapids, workers in Michigan currently have to be at least 18 in order to serve.
Leaders with the Michigan Licensed Beverage Association believe the bill could help restaurants deal with labor shortages.
