A new local nonprofit will bring live music and the community together this week to benefit disadvantaged mothers and their babies.

Pop-Up with a Purpose was established in March this year and will host its second event on Friday, June 17, from 7-11 p.m. at the Central Park stage in Mishawaka.

The organization’s goal is to educate and direct attention to local agencies and their resources available to the community. Size Matters will be performing at this week’s event to spread awareness and give back to local nonprofits.

Proceeds from Fridays event will help support Hannah’s House, a Mishawaka-based agency that offers a continuum of stable housing, home life, staff support and programming for empowering pregnant, vulnerable women.

“So often, fundraising is geared toward high-dollar gifting when every effort helps,” Pop-Up with a Purpose organizer Dawn Kaser said. “We feel small events are an amazing way to connect our community. Pop-Up with a Purpose is proud to be a part of Michiana’s live music and philanthropic scene.”

The event is for those 21 and older. Tickets are $10 for general admission, $20 for a fast pass, which allows expedited entry and one drink in hand at the door, or $250 for a sponsor, which includes social media mentions and a logo or text promotion on a video screen near the stage. Prices do not include fees.

The Landing Catering will be offering beer, wine, seltzers, canned cocktails, and various food options for purchase.

Tickets are available at Eventbrite.com and will also be available at the park gates. Donations of any amount will also be accepted at Eventbrite.com or at the gates.
