No running, no diving, and definitely no fighting.

Chaos reigned Tuesday evening, Police were called Merrifield Pool in Mishawaka and found 25-30 kids inside and outside the facility fighting. Pool staff told them that they were shot by airsoft guns, one juvenile was cut down his arm after he punched through the window of a door.

Nobody was arrested, but two kids involved face a city-wide park ban.

Now, the pool is temporarily closed and will be fitted with security cameras, security personnel, and the need for anyone under 18 to be accompanied by an adult.

The Mishawaka Police Department sent the following information to 95.3 MNC:

On June 14 at 7:30 PM Mishawaka Police Officers responded to a large fight in progress involving approximately 25-30 juveniles inside and outside the Merrifield Pool complex. Juveniles were reported shooting airsoft guns at pool staff and others, along with physical altercations.

When officers arrived on scene, they broke up numerous fights and dispersed the crowd off the property. Once the scene was secured, medics tended to one juvenile that suffered cuts to the hand and arm. This was caused by the juvenile punching his hand through a window to an entry door. No other injuries were reported to police.

Police served two juveniles with banishment orders from all City Park properties, due to their actions at the pool.

No arrests were made during this time, but the investigation into this incident is active.
