Man shot and killed at Pin Oak Apartments in Mishawaka has been identified

The search is on for a suspect after an 18-year-old man was shot and killed in Mishawaka.

Officers with the Mishawaka Police Department were called around 11:40 p.m. on Friday, June 17, to Pin Oak Apartments, located north of the Town and Country Shopping Center, where they found the victim, Tychius Derrickson, outside of building #221.

Derrickson, who suffered a bullet wound to the upper body, died at the scene.

Investigators say they are following up on leads and talking to witnesses.
