An Elkhart man was killed when he crashed his motorcycle.

Elkhart County Sheriff’s deputies were called around 8 p.m. on Monday, June 20, to La Rue Street, west of Shore Avenue, where they say Elzy Sweeten, 30, veered off the road to the north and continued straight without applying any brakes.

Sweeten collided with a yellow pole arm.

He was ejected from the vehicle and thrown around 25 feet.

Sweeten was pronounced deceased at the scene.
