A Cassopolis man says a crack in his windshield and bright sunshine blinded him, causing him to crash head-on, into another vehicle.

The collision happened around 7 a.m. on Wednesday, June 22, as the man drove around the curve on Paradise Lake Rozad near Jeffries St. in Calvin Township.

The man was unable to see an on-coming vehicle or where he was on the road and crossed the center line, hitting a Jeep Wrangler driven by a 38-year-old, Vandalia woman. She was taken to the hospital for treatment.

The Cassopolis man wasn’t hurt, but a 39-year-old woman rising in his car was also taken to the hospital with injuries.
