Mishawaka woman killed in crash on U.S. 30 in Kosciusko County

A Mishawaka woman was killed in a crash on U.S. 30 in Kosciusko County.

The Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Office says deputies were called to US 30 east of CR 500 W in Prairie Township just after 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday, June 22.

Officials say Kathy Harmon, 47, was going east on U.S. 30 behind a semi truck prior to the crash that. A semi truck going west crossed the center line and struck the trailer in front of Harmon, glanced off and struck Harmon’s car head-on in the median.

Harmon was trapped inside the vehicle and was pronounced dead at the scene.

U.S. 30 is under construction, with both east- and westbound traffic using the westbound lanes of U.S. 30.
