Congressman Jim Banks speaks on overturning of Roe vs Wade

When Republican Congressman Jim Banks first learned of the decision by the U.S. Supreme Court overturning Roe v. Wade, he released a statement praising the justices for their bravery. Friday afternoon, he told WIBC’s Tony Katz that he’s afraid for the justices.
“We wouldn’t be here today if it weren’t for Pres. Trump appointing pro-life justices,” he said.
Justices are mandated to rule only on the Constitutionality of a law, and to interpret it in that light, rather than with a partisan slant.
“These Democrats have incited it. They have directly incited people to show up and protest at the homes of Supreme Court justices,” said Banks. “I do fear for the safety of our Supreme Court justices who have made a [sic] historic decision and the left was trying to pressure them to change their minds.”
Banks said he believes the people who are protesting outside justice’s homes should be arrested and prosecuted.
“The Dept. of Justice has not fully gone after these people who have shown up. The Biden Dept. of Justice should be arresting people showing up illegally at the homes of these justices trying to threaten them,” he said.
