The City of South Bend has announced the second round of recipients of its new Energy Assistance and Solar Savings Initiative, to assist local nonprofits, schools, and other community organizations to install solar panels and make energy efficiency upgrades.
The list includes the following organizations:
Boys and Girls Clubs of St. Joseph County
St. Joseph County 4H Fair
Transformation Ministries
St. Margaret’s House
AIDS Ministries/AIDS Assist
Saint Joseph County Library
The Clubhouse of St Joseph County
Life Treatment Centers
Indiana University South Bend Civil Rights Heritage Center
The Nexus Center
Unity Gardens
The program, which is a partnership between the City of South Bend, IFF, and CDFI Friendly South Bend, will allow local nonprofits, schools, public libraries, medical facilities, grocery stores, and churches to apply for a free energy assessment, grant funding for improvements and optional low interest lending through IFF. Organizations starting this week will begin receiving their assessment.
