Two men arrested after allegedly stealing Batman shirts, claiming to be police officers

Two men were arrested after allegedly stealing Batman shirts, claiming to be police officers.

It happened when Goshen police were called to the Walmart on Lincolnway East.

When they arrived, they found the victim, who told police that two men, 40-year-old Jessie Hardon and 37-year-old Joseph Thompson, came up his car, saying they were cops.

The Elkhart Truth reports that the victim left his car, with his key, as the two men got in.

Witnesses told police that the two men chased the victim, kicking and punching him.

Officials report that the two had stolen multiple items from Walmart, including two bat man shirts, two hats, two baseball caps, a pair of shoes, and a flower pot.

Hardon and Thompson were charged with robbery resulting in injury, impersonating a public servant, and misdemeanor theft.

They arrested on June 30.

Their hearing is set for Thursday.
