Two women were arrested after allegedly taking items from the home of a homicide victim in South Bend.

It happened on December 19, when officers responded to alarms in the 1100 block of Oak Park Court, where a person was shot earlier in the day.

That’s where they found the back door of the house open and items missing from inside.

Police spoke to 23-year-old Logan Burke and 46-year-old Erica Weaver in relation to the break-in.

ABC 57 News reports that the two women said that they were related to victim and kicked open the back door, to take the items that the victim had promised them.

Both Burke and Weaver were charged with burglary.

They’re due back in court on August 10.
