The man who killed a couple who worked at the Papa John’s on Cassopolis Street in Elkhart, back in February, has been sentenced for two counts of murder.
Jose Benitez Tilley Jr. will spend 65 years in prison for killing Haley Smith and 65 years for killing Dustin Carr, but the sentenced will be served at the same time.
A witness told investigators Tilley used to work at Papa John’s and they had issues with him in the past. The witness said the suspect had been at the restaurant prior to the killings, asking for a job.
Tilley admitted to the murders and also trying to rape Smith after killing her.

This evil Criminal should have gotten the death penalty instead. Let’s hope he is never released to walk the streets again.
